Day Bar/Day Cafe
There are so many unique things in the university life such as- school
festival, blind date, day bar and day cafe, student demonstration (which is
decreasing rapidly), and etc. Above all, I think day bar and the day cafe may
be the most unfamiliar thing, even though It is a very common phenomenon
in Korean university life.
Day bar and day cafe are similar to each other. But it can be categorized
into two groups according to the opening hours. The day cafe opens from
11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The day bar opens from 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. in
the same place, afternoon time is day cafe, evening time is day bar.
The sponsors of the day bar and the day cafe is a group of university students.
They rent the bar or the cafe for the appointed time, and then they`ll be the owners
during that time. In order to rent day bar and day cafe for the appointed time, they
must pay the money to the real owner. The number of the guests are limited. The
strangers don`t come to the day bar and the day cafe, because it is more expensive
than the ordinary bar or cafe. Nobody drinks too much, everybody drinks adequately.
In order to be a guest for the day bar and the day cafe, you must have a ticket.
