When I was in high school, I read this novel, George Orwell`s Animal Farm, but it was never required reading for me, so it took me some time to finally get around to reading it. I found it to be an enjoyable reading that had me hooked from the first sentence. This is an excellent exercise in metaphor and visionary imagination. While this book might be a very short reading for some of you in this class, it brings a lot to the table by giving you an interesting time on how history could be reenacted in the freshest ways.
Actually, the author, George Orwell was not only the writer of 1984 but Animal Farm as well as written many essays and articles. If you`ve read or heard of 1984, the society was in the future under Big Brother, a totalitarian dictatorship where nothing was sacred.
