본문내용 I think this film, The Double Life of Veronique is the one of the Krzysztof Kieslowski`s finest film. This film is not just a philosophical or art film, but a subtle and unique story full of Kieslowski`s directorial skill, and gives Irene Jacob, the main character, a chance to shine in her most challenging role ever.

One actress playing two characters in a slightly different way has occurred in at least two other recent released movie: there was Patricia Arquette in Lost Highway and Gwyneth Paltrow in The Sliding Doors. It`s an appealing venture for an actress, I think, and when the actress is as talented as these three are, for the audience as well.

There are two women, the Polish Weronika and the French Veronique, both played by one actress, Irene Jacob. They have never met, spoken, and don`t know that even the other exists in somewhere. They share same losses and same health condition. Weronika is a singer and Veronique is taking singing lesson as an amateur. But their lives and souls are bound together, and their personalities are on opposite positions.
