본문내용 Introduction
The Lee Myung Bak administration has announced an intention to implement a canal project in South Korea. “The Korean Canal Project” is a huge national undertaking which plans to construct 512 kilometers of canal penetrating the whole Korean Peninsula. The people in favor of this project have engaged in intense debate with others who are very much against the project, and the ensuing argument has made Koreans very confused about whether or not the canal project is a good idea. When we read surveys that have been conducted by several newspaper publishers about the project, we can see how apparent this confusion is. According to the Seoul Shinmun 30% of respondents to a survey about the project favored it while 57% don’t. However, according to the Herald Economy 45.3% of respondents favored the project while 32% were against it. And we also conducted a survey of the Korean Canal Project and it was carried out by 100 Koreans in Sinchon. Most respondents seemed to have their own opinion on the project, but actually only 2 percent of respondents were confident about their knowledge on it. It means that most Koreans don’t really have enough time to read all the related information about the project and apply it to their life. So the main purpose of this research paper is to offer richer information and disclose the truth of The Korean Canal Project in more simple terms.
