Gatsby`s Dream
Conclusion
º»¹®³»¿ë Introduction
F. Scott Fitzgerald represents three types of cities in The Great Gatsby. The first city is East egg where typically rich American people live. Another city is ¡°a valley of ashes where ashes grow like wheat into ridges and hills and grotesque gardens.¡±(21) The last city is West Egg where newly rich and working people live. This city is the city that Gatsby and Nick live in. Considering these three types of cities and the people who live in each city, they seem to be resembled to American formative process and features of today.
West Egg is similar to Gatsby in a sense that they are between East Egg and a valley of ashes. Gatsby tries to accomplish his romance against a real life making money. This is alike the process that he proceed to East Egg from a valley of ashes. West Egg used to be represented as immorality.
