1. 도치 구문: 주어와 동사가 <V+S>의 순서가 되는 것
이때 주어와 동사의 수, 시제, 태의 일치를 유의하여야 한다.
①강조를 위한 도치
a. 부정어가 문구
Little did I dream that I would win the race.
Hardly had she left home when it began to rain.
→as soon as S 과거V~ S 과거V
Scarcely/Hardly/ had S p.p~ before/when S 과거 V
No sooner hah p.p~ than S 과거V
Not until we lose our health do we realize its value.
(= It is not until we lose our health that we realize its value.
= We realize its value only after we lose our health.)

b. 부사(구)가 문두
On the top of the hill stood an old castle.
There goes my teacher.
There she gose (주어가 인칭 대명사인 경우는 주어+동사의 순)

c. only가 문두
Only then did I understand what she meant.
