Prob. 1) Please read the Moore’ paper “ramming more components onto integrated circuits”
Electronics, Vol. 38, No 8, April, 1965. [10pts]
(a) What are the things that Moore predicted correctly?
(b) What are the things that Moore predicted incorrectly?
Prob. 2) Why is polysilicon used instead of metal for the gate a MOSFET? What are the advantages or disadvantages of having polysilicon to having metal such as aluminum? [10pts]
Prob. 3) What is the amount of variation in the mobility of electrons and holes as temperature
increases from 0 °C ~ 100 °C? (i.e. μn(T=0)/μn(T=100) = ? μp(T=0)/μp(T=100) = ? Which do
you think is the worse case design condition: 0 °C or 100 °C? [10pts]
